Sadly, as always, the moment that I need my tools to work is when they fail me. Printer is uncooperative so won't be able to sell these prints this weekend as anticipated. There are still reasons to visit me though! I'll have with me some fine prints (screenprints, intaglio, etc), paintings, zines, and various postcards and illustrations. Bring your lovely self to the AMFM gallery on Feb 25 -see previous post!

I'll be participating in a small show following my birthday. The purpose will be to sell prints/zines/small paintings. Please come by and show your support :)
Send your images to [email protected] for a chance to be featured! Please include a) Your name/IG or twitter handle B) If possible, where the photograph was taken (what march or event) C) The issue you care about and why. Until then, share, download, and get informed!
The first set of protest prints are done (more to come, others are in the inking/scanning stage). Oh how I look forward to my birthday and a new scanner that won't take 10 minutes to scan one image! Oh how I look forward to high resolution and seconds per print! In the meantime, there's just so much to talk about and never enough time. If you have a moment, comment with some issues you'd like to see tackled in the next round of prints. So far I will be focusing on issues such as: immigrations, refugees, DAPL, and LGBT rights. If you have any ideas, i'm open to hearing em! In the meantime, download, share, and get informed on the issues and how you can make a difference in this nonsense world. (If you have time, download the Countable app to read up on issues and weigh in.)
https://www.countable.us/ For those of us marching out there tonight, and those getting ready for tomorrow. Download a free poster 11*17 or standard size up to 18*24, below. Post, share (remember to credit by tagging @chickadeeemm), print and leave it around. Spread the word, speak your mind, stand up for your rights, and be safe. Resist hate and intolerance. Join together to fight for what's worth fighting for: human rights, LGBT rights, women's rights, our environment, diversity, inclusion, and love.
Note* While not posters, two additional designs are included below. to make it easier on myself deadline-wise, and bite some of this massive workload off, and also to make it more feasable to bring the travelogue to its audience without printing issues, I have decided that I will be posting the travelogue ONLINE, with new updates at regular intervals, that way you get not only my illustrations, my writing, but also post-travel blurbs and photographs from the trip. Wish i could also post some videos but unfortunately, those have been lost due to a black hole mysteriously opening up somewhere in my house and sucking the memory card into it never to be seen again. Look for the first installment coming up soon! Illustrations and prints will also be available for purchase online. If the travelogue is printed as a book, it will include stories not released on the online version but that will also be made available for purchase later on.
I have been away from the desk and I am ashamed. Started going through the travelogue the other day. Three pages in, and I've got myself a huge list of things to write and illustrations to draw! This is going to be a lengthy project. Would publishers look at it? Would you? Would you rather have a live site? I don't know. But for now i'm cranking this out. Never knew I had so much to say about travel until I sat down today to hash it all out. Having flashbacks of pre-travel stressing and fussing. This travelogue might take you through that journey with me, or it might spare you some stressing and fussing of your own. If you are waiting for new illustrations, don't worry! Those are one their way soon too. Best friend had a birthday so I made her some little illustrations too. If I can manage to photograph some before her birthday tonight, I'll post em up. If not, then sit tight, my friends, Mia is back to work.
This is the first post on this site, and my first post as an official zine-ster! Less than two weeks until showtime, and i'm at work trying to pull all this stuff together, then going home to keep at it! Is it worth quitting school over, and not finishing my teaching degree? So far? YES! I'm excited! But that could just be my naivete.....
Chicago Zine Fest is not too far away though-and here I am on this nice little exhibitor list! So check it out and hope I don't fall apart until then! >>>>> _ <<<<Click Here To Be Directed to the Zine Fest List Page |
